Purchasing shelving from big box retailers often means corners are cut. Our shelves goes through an intimate and slower fabrication process that results in a more personalized product.

One thing we see a lot in the market is veneer. Wall shelving with veneer means a thin layer of wood is pressed, using toxic glues, onto some kind of substrate which is also assembled with things like formaldehyde. Veneer has its place in furniture but other retailers will often hide the veneer with stains and top coats that make it look exactly like the actual materials we use.

Making a wall shelf in a high production environemnt requires spraying it with toxic film finishes like lacquers. Our wood shelving has a hand applied finish for which there are no short cuts.

Finally, handcrafting our modern shelves connects us to each product and order which results in a more intimate experience from pre-sale to post-sale.

Our modern wall shelves are made in Toronto, Canada. We source all of our wood and materials within a 75km radius of or studio to minimize our carbon footprint.

The wooden wall shelf series does require assembly before mounting to your wall. We provide you with everything you need to do that. Basic tools like a level, a pencil and a drill set is all that is required and instructions are posted on each product page.

All of our tiered wall shelving is made to order, however we always stock parts for our products. Small items like our wall hook can ship within a few days. That goes for our shelving too but please allow for 2-4 weeks for all products to be properly made and dispatched.
